Completion of disposal of Central European Operations

Further to the announcement by Dixons Retail plc on 19 May 2014, the Company today announces the completion of the disposal of the ElectroWorld operations to NAY a.s., a leading electrical specialist retailer in the region. Electroworld operates 26 specialist electrical retail stores across Czech Republic and Slovakia. With completion, the Company is due to receive a small deferred cash consideration spread over three years.

Commenting on the disposal, Sebastian James, Group Chief Executive, said:

"I am pleased to say that we have completed the sale of ElectroWorld in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and I look forward to seeing it thrive as market leader now that it is part of the Nay Group. With the completion of this transaction, Dixons Carphone is now a market leader in every electricals market in which it operates; this concludes the work started two years ago to focus the Group on its core markets."
