            Pre-close Season Meetings with Analysts - Trading Update


The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC is conducting a series of pre-close season
meetings with analysts this week, ahead of its interim results statement on 6th
November 2002.  Management expects to deliver results that are towards the upper
end of the market range of forecasts for the 26 weeks ending 28th September
2002.

Since the AGM statement on 30th July 2002, connection numbers, like for like
revenue and like for like gross margin have all continued to show good
improvement on the prior year, in both the UK and Continental European
operations.  

Recurring revenue streams from the insurance and telecoms services businesses
have also continued to show encouraging growth, further improving the quality of
earnings and increasing the lifetime value of Carphone Warehouse's customer
base.
