DCC EXPANDS ITS OIL DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS
28 July 2000
DCC plc, the value added marketing and distribution group,
announces that it has acquired Fuel Services, the long
established Northern Ireland oil distribution business, from
John Hogg & Co Limited. The consideration for the acquisition
was EUR7.5 million which was satisfied in cash.
With a head office in Belfast, Fuel Services supplies a range
of domestic, commercial and industrial businesses throughout
Northern Ireland.
Jim Flavin, Founder and Chief Executive of DCC, said today:
'DCC's oil distribution businesses in both Northern Ireland and
the Republic of Ireland have achieved excellent growth over the
last number of years. The acquisition of Fuel Services complements
our existing oil distribution business in Northern Ireland,
which comprises Emo Oil and Cawoods Oil (which was acquired
in August 1999). DCC is now the leading oil distributor
in Northern Ireland.'
