DCC Expands IT Distribution Operations in Continental Europe
DCC plc, the value added sales, marketing and business support services group,
has completed the acquisition of the business of Advanced Business Computing SA
('AB Computing'), a value added distributor of IT infrastructure solutions
headquartered in Belgium.
AB Computing is a partner of Sun Microsystems, Oracle and Macromedia and
achieved turnover of €27 million in its financial year ended 30 June 2005. AB
Computing, which employs 31 staff, will be integrated with Distrilogie, DCC's
value added IT infrastructure distributor that has operations in France, Spain
and Portugal.
The acquisition was completed by way of the purchase of the trade, goodwill and
certain of the assets of Advanced Business Computing SA and AB Computers
(Luxembourg) SA for a consideration of €5.72 million, payable in cash. In
addition a further investment in working capital in the order of €2.10 million
will be required, resulting in a total investment of €7.82 million.
Jim Flavin, Chief Executive / Deputy Chairman of DCC plc said today:
'While modest, this acquisition expands DCC's IT Distribution activities into
the Benelux region. The current strength of AB Computing in its core Belgian and
Luxembourg markets allied with the experience and product portfolio of
Distrilogie is a strong combination that should deliver synergistic organic
growth opportunities in the future.'
