                          DCC Announces Share Buyback

DCC plc, the business support services group, announces that on 17 May 2004 it
purchased 2,065,000 of its own shares (2.53% of listed share capital) at a 
price of €12.80 per share and a total cost of €26.8 million.

DCC has bought back a total of 10.45% of its issued share capital since July
2000 at an average price per share of €10.48 and a total cost of €97.7 million.
