DCC plc announces that on 21 July 2005, 20,314 shares were transferred out of
the Company's holding of treasury shares pursuant to the exercise of options
under the DCC plc 1998 Employee Share Option Scheme and the DCC Sharesave Scheme
2001. The subscription prices paid for these shares ranged from €6.22 to €12.63.

DCC has a total of 88,229,404 shares in issue, of which 7,844,301 shares are now
held in treasury.
