De La Rue PLC 29 August 2001 DE LA RUE PLC News Release 29 August 2001 DE LA RUE APPOINTS DR PHILIP NOLAN AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR De La Rue is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Philip Nolan as a Non-Executive director of the company with effect from 1 September 2001. Dr Nolan, 47, is Chief Executive of Lattice Group plc which was demerged from BG Group plc in October 2000. He joined BG Group plc in 1996 where he held various senior management positions before the demerger. Before then he spent 15 years with BP in various operational and strategic roles. Commenting on the appointment Brandon Gough, Chairman of De La Rue plc said: 'The Board of De La Rue will be enhanced by this appointment. Dr Nolan is a high calibre executive with considerable high level operational experience running businesses in both the UK and internationally.
