CAMELOT NAMED AS 'PREFERRED BIDDER' FOR
THIRD NATIONAL LOTTERY LICENCE
De La Rue is pleased to note that Camelot has been selected by The National
Lottery Commission as the 'preferred bidder' to operate the next National
Lottery licence. Camelot, which has operated the UK lottery since 1994, has been
bidding to operate the next ten year licence which will run from February 2009.
De La Rue has a shareholding of 20% in Camelot Group plc and is one of the five
current shareholders in the business, along with Cadbury Schweppes, Thales
Electronics, Fujitsu Services and Royal Mail Enterprises.
Group Chief Executive, Leo Quinn, commented, 'We are very pleased that Camelot's
excellent management of the UK lottery has been recognised with their selection
as the preferred bidder'.
