FINANCE DIRECTOR CHANGE

De La Rue plc today announces that Stephen King has informed the Board that he will resign as group finance director and as an executive director on 31 March 2009. Stephen will leave De La Rue to pursue other opportunities having completed the disposal of the Cash Systems business, the return of capital to shareholders and initiated the restructuring of the remaining business after the disposal.  The Board thanks him for his contribution to the transformation of the Group's portfolio and creation of shareholder value and wishes him well for the future. 

De La Rue also announces the appointment of  Simon Webb as group finance director designate with effect from  2 February 2009, becoming Finance Director and  an executive director of the Board with effect from 1 April 2009. He will join De La Rue from Enodis plc, where he has been deputy chief financial officer  since 2007. 

Mr Webb, 44,  has a broad range of financial and commercial expertise. Previously, he was Vice President Finance -EMEA for Paxar Europe and held senior finance roles in British American Tobacco. Mr Webb is a chartered accountant. 

There is nothing which is required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in respect of Mr Webb.
