The Company on 9 October 2000 received a letter dated 6 October 2000 from
Silchester International Investors Limited giving notice that, pursuant to
S198 Companies Act (as amended) by the Disclosure of Interest in Shares
(Amendment) Regulations 1993, recent purchases of shares in the Company by
Silchester, on behalf of its clients (see Appendix A), have resulted in
Silchester having control over the following shares:
SILCHESTER 19,614,179 Ordinary Shares
This represents 10.2% of the number of shares in issue.
