DE LA RUE NAMED MOST COMPETITIVE BIDDER
IN KENYAN BANKNOTE TENDER
The Central Bank of Kenya has announced the prices submitted for its tender for
the supply of banknotes, which indicate that De La Rue has submitted the most
competitive bid. The company is now awaiting the decision of the Central Bank
on how it wishes to proceed in this matter.

1. De La Rue's banknote factory in Kenya was established in 1994 at the
request of the Central Bank of Kenya. In addition to its core banknote
manufacturing, it has also developed a regional business for other security
printed products, such as cheques. It currently employs over 300 people.
