Redemption of Shares

De La Rue announces that on 30 March 2000 it redeemed at par the 49,998
redeemable preference shares ('the Shares') of £1.00 each in its capital
pursuant to notice given to the holder of the Shares in accordance with the
Articles of Association of the Company. On redemption, the Shares were
converted and subdivided into 199,992 authorised but unissued ordinary shares
of 25p each in the capital of the Company.
