De La Rue plc announces that on 29 August 2007 it purchased for cancellation
100,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 687.50p per share from JPMorgan
Cazenove Limited.



Following this purchase the total number of shares in issue will be 149,524,013
shares.



De La Rue plc does not hold any shares in Treasury and hence the total number of
voting rights in the Company following settlement of the above transaction will
be 149,524,013.
