                             Annual General Meeting



At today's (23 October 2003) Annual General Meeting, Michael Redmond, Chairman,
told shareholders:


'As I indicated in my statement in the 2003 Annual Report, we are already
benefiting from a number of initiatives introduced across our businesses which
have assisted in improving group operating margin.


'I am pleased to report that the improved group performance witnessed in the
second half in comparison to the first half of the financial year ended 30 June
2003 has continued.  As a result pre tax profit in the first quarter has shown
an improvement over the same period last year.


'Your Board remains confident the group will continue to make progress.'


All resolutions were duly passed.
