                    New Managing Director for NVS Appointed



Leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of pharmaceuticals and veterinary
equipment, Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC announces the appointment of Martin Roach
as Managing Director of the Group's principal trading subsidiary - National
Veterinary Services with immediate effect. This follows the appointment of
previous Managing Director Ian Page to Chief Executive of the Group in November
2001.


Mr Roach, aged 49, has over a number of years gained extensive experience within
Distribution and Veterinary Pharmaceuticals industries, throughout Europe and
North America.


A graduate of Warwick University and Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey,
USA, Martin has extensive knowledge of biotechnology and healthcare sectors. He
has previously held several senior positions within Hill's Pet Nutrition, part
of Colgate Palmolive, and in 1997 he was appointed Managing Director of Hill's
Pet Nutrition in UK and Ireland. Here he reversed declining sales and market
share to 20% growth and 70% share respectively.
