           Chloride Finance Director appointed Non-Executive Director



The Board of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC announce the appointment of Neil Warner
as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from today (6 May 2003).


Mr Warner, FCA, MCT, aged 50 is Finance Director at Chloride Group PLC, a
position he has held since 1997. Prior to this, he spent six years at Exel PLC
(formerly Ocean Group PLC) where he held a number of senior posts in financial
planning, treasury and control. Previous to this, he worked for Balfour Beatty
PLC (formerly BICC Group plc), Alcoa and PricewaterhouseCoopers.


Commenting on the appointment, Ian Page, Chief Executive, Dechra Pharmaceuticals
said:


'Neil's technical skills in financial control, tax and treasury strengthens the
scope of the Board in delivering continuous improvement.'


'In addition, his wealth of knowledge and experience gained from a variety of
business sectors, in particular, manufacturing, distribution and logistics will
be invaluable to us as we move the Group forward.'


Neil Warner added:

Dechra Pharmaceuticals confirms that there are no other details relating to the
appointment of Neil Warner that it is required to disclose under paragraph 6.F.2
(b-g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
