Dickinson Legg Group plc (the 'Company')

The Company was informed on 5 March 2003 by New Star Asset Management Limited 
('New Star') that, following the acquisition on 21 February 2003 of a number of
funds previously managed by Aberdeen Asset Management Limited, New Star now
manages, in aggregate, 4,512,273 ordinary shares in the Company representing
approximately 12.4% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.

New Star does not hold these shares beneficially, but holds them as an
investment manager acting on behalf of discretionary clients.
