                          CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT


At this morning's Annual General Meeting of Diagonal PLC, the Chairman, Mark
Samuels will give the following update on trading:

'The Consulting forward load and pipeline remain strong supported by additional
opportunities arising from the acquisition of Partners for Change. The Secure
Networks Division has maintained its high gross margin performance through a
continuing focus on support and maintenance contracts.

Current trading is in line with expectations indicating a satisfactory
performance for the full year.'
