DIALIGHT PLC
AGM Statement
Mr. Harry Tee, Chairman of Dialight plc, the UK based leader in Applied LED
Technology, will today make the following statement at the Group's Annual
General Meeting:
'We are pleased to report demand for our Component products has stabilised and
we anticipate that current levels of demand will continue throughout the
remainder of the year. Our expectations for the current year remain unchanged
from our trading update issued on 20 April 2007.
We believe, however, the real value growth potential for Dialight lies in the
Signals and Illumination markets as these develop with the continuous
improvements in performance of high brightness LEDs, making Solid State Lighting
a reality. In order to provide greater focus within Dialight on the Lighting
sector, Gordon Routledge, currently Managing Director of Dialight Lumidrives,
will assume full responsibility for Dialight's Lighting Business worldwide. In
this enhanced role, Gordon will report directly to the Chief Executive, Roy
Burton and will be responsible for all Dialight's Lighting Product Development,
Sales and Marketing around the world.
As Dialight positions itself in Solid State Lighting, the Board has decided to
appoint Canaccord Adams as Broker to the Company. This appointment brings with
it access to a team which is recognised as one of the world's leading
authorities in the technological and commercial changes that are taking place in
the emerging Solid State lighting space. Close Brothers will continue as
Financial Adviser to the Company.
Jeff Hewitt has served on the Board of The Roxboro Group, now Dialight, for
almost six years, the last eighteen months as Deputy Chairman. Jeff has
expressed a wish to retire from the Board at the end of his six year term on 31
August 2007. Jeff has been a very active Board Member and has made an extremely
valuable contribution to a Board that has created significant shareholder value
over the past five years. We are now seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director
with knowledge and experience of the Lighting Industry.
The Board remains confident in the Company's strategy of driving for growth in
the Solid State Lighting and Signals sectors. The well documented volatility in
the Components sector creates difficulties from time to time, but it remains a
core part of Dialight.'
