                    APPOINTMENT OF NON EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN




The Board of Directors of Diagonal plc announces that Mark Samuels, founder
and current executive Chairman of the Company is, in accordance with his
wishes, to become non Executive Chairman with effect from 4th December 2000.

Graham Creswick, Chief Executive Officer, said:

'As the founder of the Company some 12 years ago and the inspiration for the
successful flotation in 1997, Mark's contribution to Diagonal goes without
saying. The Board would like to record formally its recognition of Mark's
efforts and is pleased that he will maintain his interest in the Company as
non Executive Chairman'.
