DIAGONAL plc - Appointment of new director

The board of DIAGONAL plc ('DIAGONAL' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce
the appointment of Alan Hunter as finance director of the Company with effect
from 26 June 2000.

Mr Hunter has held the following directorships over the five years preceding
the date of appointment:

REA BROTHERS GROUP PLC, Group Finance Director 

There are no other matters required to be disclosed by the Listing Rules in
connection with Mr Hunter's appointment.
