                       APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


The Board of Diagonal plc is very pleased to announce the appointment of Colin
Burnside as an Executive Director with immediate effect.



Colin was a founder Director of the Company in 1988 until he resigned in April
2000.  He joined SAP (UK) on secondment in October 1998, holding the position of
Executive Director, and covering a series of senior management posts.  On the
successful completion of his secondment, the Diagonal Directors were delighted
when Colin indicated that he was prepared to rejoin the Board.  He brings with
him an unrivalled knowledge of the SAP universe.



Mark Samuels, Chairman Diagonal plc, said:



'In his new role, Colin will focus on helping the Group lay the foundations for
growth from all its existing businesses.  This will provide a solid platform for
Diagonal's aspirations for 2004 and beyond.  He will be involved in developing
opportunities arising both organically and potentially, from appropriate
acquisitions.'



There is no additional regulatory information requiring notification under the
Listing Rules in connection with the appointment of Colin Burnside.
