Supply Agreement for the Advancement of National "Smart Grid"
Dialight plc ("Dialight"), an innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, announces the signing of a supply agreement for its PowerPulse ANSI 200-amp disconnect/reconnect load switch.
This agreement with a new Dialight customer, one of the major North American metering companies, is initially for three years and is in direct support of the United States Advanced Meter Infrastructure Initiative, a program to deploy "smart" metering across the "smart grid" nationwide.
In the United States mass conversion has begun with more than 100 million domestic electricity meters being potentially upgraded to "smart metering".
Dialight CEO, Roy Burton, commented: "We are pleased to have this extended agreement in place, and see it as endorsement of our technological capabilities in this highly safety conscious and challenging market. Although there is no indication of order volume at this stage, the company views this opportunity as a great next step to command significant share of this emerging market."
