                     BOARD APPOINTMENT AND TRADING UPDATE

The Board of DIAGONAL plc is delighted to announce that Steve Fleming, ACA,
has been appointed Finance Director with immediate effect.  Steve joined the
Group after a 10 year career with Deloitte & Touche most recently working with
high growth businesses in transaction support work.

Since the trading statement was issued on the 9th October, 2001 improved
visibility of forward revenues has reinforced the Directors' cautious optimism
relating to the Group's performance for 2002.
