                      DIPLOMA PLC - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING


     At the Annual General Meeting to be held today of Diploma PLC, the
     international specialised distribution group, the Chairman will report that
     the Group has begun the new financial year trading in line with
     expectations. Strengthened trading conditions in the Group's North American
     businesses, together with the contributions from recent acquisitions,
     should enable the Group to make further progress in 2005.
