                         Directors' Interests in Shares

Diploma PLC ('the Company'), the international specialised distribution group,
has been informed that Ogier Employee Benefit Trustee Limited, as trustee of the
Diploma Employee Benefit Trust, has purchased 52,867 ordinary shares in the
Company at a price of 500p.

Each of the Executive Directors of the Company, B M Thompson, I Henderson and N
P Lingwood, is deemed to be beneficially interested in all the shares held in
the Trust from time to time by virtue of being a potential beneficiary under the
Trust.
