The Directors of Diploma PLC are sad to announce the sudden death of Bill Reid, 
a non-Executive Director of the Company, on Wednesday, 2 April 2003.

Bill Reid joined the Board of Diploma PLC as a non-Executive Director in 1994. 
The Board would like to record his contribution to the successful and 
substantial changes which Diploma PLC has achieved in recent years. He was a 
valued member of the Board and we will greatly miss his experience and wisdom, 
as well as his sharp wit.

The Board would like to convey their condolences to his wife and family at this 
very sad time.
