DIPLOMA PLC ANNOUNCES SALE OF PHASE 2 OF STAMFORD LAND
FOR £4.2M

Diploma PLC, the international specialised distribution group, has today
exchanged contracts on the sale of Phase 2 (7.9 acres) of the land in Stamford,
Lincolnshire.  Proceeds of sale are £4.2m before expenses and the net book value
is less than £0.1m.  The gain on sale, after expenses, will be subject to tax.

The transaction is expected to complete on 12 December 2003.
