Board appointments

The Board of Direct Line Insurance Group plc ("Direct Line Group") announces that Danuta Gray will be appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Mike Holliday-Williams will be appointed as an Executive Director, both with effect from Wednesday, 1 February 2017.

Danuta is Senior Independent Director of Aldermore Group plc, a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of PageGroup plc, a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Old Mutual plc, a Non-Executive Director of PaddyPower Betfair plc and a Non-Executive Member of the Defence Board of the UK Ministry of Defence. 

Danuta was Chairman of Telefónica O2 in Ireland until December 2012, having previously been its Chief Executive from 2001 to 2010. She has also been a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Aer Lingus plc, Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Irish Life and Permanent plc and a Non-Executive Director of the National Centre for Youth and Medical Health Limited.

Mike Holliday-Williams joined Direct Line Group in 2014 as Managing Director of the Personal Lines business. He was previously Chief Executive of RSA Insurance Group plc's Scandinavian businesses, Codan A/S and Trygg-Hansa, Managing Director of MORETH>N and held various senior management positions in businesses owned by Centrica plc.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules in relation to Danuta's and Mike's appointments as directors of the Company.
