Drax, the UK power generator, announces today that Gordon Boyd, Finance Director
has decided to leave the Company during the second half of 2008 to pursue other
opportunities.
Gordon joined Drax in January 2005 and was an essential part of the management
team which oversaw Drax's business transformation, and refinancing and listing
of the Company on the London Stock Exchange in December 2005.
Gordon will remain with the Company until later in the year to allow time for
the search and selection of a suitable replacement.
Commenting on today's announcement, Gordon Boyd said:
'I have thought long and hard about this decision and I am convinced that it is
the right time for me to move on and seek fresh challenges. I wish my colleagues
at Drax all the best for the future and hope that the business continues to
go from strength to strength.'
Gordon Horsfield, Chairman, said:
'Gordon has been at the centre of our work first to list and then to develop
Drax's business over the last three years. As our finance director he has had
made a very significant contribution to the Company. On behalf of the Board, I
should like to thank him for his hard work and for his commitment. Gordon will l
eave with our very best wishes for his future.'
Dorothy Thompson, Chief Executive, commented:
'Gordon has been an invaluable colleague during the time we have worked together
and I am delighted that he has agreed to stay on for an interim period to allow
us to find an appropriate successor.'
