Drax has received a notification today, from Morgan Stanley, advising that as at
the close of business on 3 October 2006, the interest of Morgan Stanley in the
ordinary share capital of Drax acquired an interest in shares which resulted in
a total holding of 16,249,271 being 3.99% of the issued share capital of Drax.



The number of ordinary shares of Drax currently in issue is 407,085,408.
