SCHEDULE 10
NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES
Thursday 22 March 2007
Drax has been advised by Zurich Financial Services Limited ('Zurich') that they
have previously notified Drax of the details of their ownership of beneficial
interests in Drax shares, as required by Section 198 Companies Act 1985
('s198'). The requirements of s198 were replaced as part of the implementation
of Chapter 5 of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules ('DTR').
To comply with the DTR, the notifications are now triggered by control over the
exercise of voting rights attached to shares, rather than the beneficial
interests in shares that were previously reported.
As a result of this change, there is no requirement for Zurich to inform Drax
of its voting rights held in relation to shares of Drax as at 20 January 2007.
Prior to this notification Zurich had advised Drax (as required by s198) that
it had an interest in 5.06% of Drax's issued share capital.
The number of ordinary shares of Drax currently in issue is 368,921,151.
