Drax Group plc announces that on 13 December 2007 it purchased for cancellation
138,804 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 669.717 pence per share.


Following the purchase and upon cancellation of these shares, the number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in issue will be 339,397,000.
