Drax Group plc announces that on 14 September 2007 it purchased for cancellation
192,500 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 611.01 pence per share.

Following the purchase and upon cancellation of these shares, the number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in issue will be 350,809,804.
