Appointment to the Board of Directors of Billam plc
Victor Beamish was today appointed to the Board of Directors of Billam plc.
Billam stated that it intended to build a strong Board of Directors with the
addition of individuals who have negotiated and invested on the highest
institutional platforms - this to complement its multidisciplinary Panel of
Advisors.
The company intends to announce further appointments shortly to both the
Advisory Panel and Board of Directors.

1993-1999 ABN AMRO
1998-1999 Global Account Director
Responsible for relationship management of all global
institutional accounts with Far Eastern exposure.
1995-1998 Head of Region, ABN AMRO Asia Ltd.
Responsible for the Singapore branch and for regional
stockbroking business across fourteen countries, employing 500
staff. Major units in Hong Kong and Singapore. Personal focus
upon sales and sales trading, client relationships and liaison
with the group's merchant bank.

Voted Top Broker/Merchant Bank for Chinese issues 1997
Voted top Broker for Taiwan 1996/7
Negotiated Stock Exchange membership in Korea 1996. Now in
top three.
1993-1995 Managing Director, HG Asia Ltd.
Managed this autonomous stockbroking business, handling Asian
equity sales to UK, European and US institutional clients.
Personally based in London. Managed sixty staff in London,
ten staff in New York. This company was purchased by ABN Amro
in April 1995.

1990-1993 Chief Executive, W. I. Carr (FE) Ltd
Based in London ran this Far East broking business with local
directors based in Hong Kong and New York.
W. I. Carr regained top three status in Far East
stockbroking
On sales and sales trading rated number two in UK and Far
East by Greenwich.
1987-1990 Managing Director, W. I. Carr (Far East) Ltd.
Responsible for entire Far East region. Based in Hong Kong.
Total staff 300. Clients included a wide spread of major
financial institutions.
Effected major recovery of the business, taking it into
acknowledged top three position among Far East broking

Managed sales team of ten dealing with major institutional
clients.

Set up Singapore office in 1981 covering Malaysia and
Singapore. Office focused on research and sales. Clients were
major financial institutions. Ten staff. Reported to Head of
Hoare Govett International.
Hoare Govett rated top sales and research broker in
Singapore and Malaysia.
1977-1981 Executive Far East Sales
Joined as Trainee. Moved rapidly to sales desk selling to
major UK institutional clients.
