                    Appointment of non-executive Director

As a result of the offer for World Life Sciences plc being announced
unconditional in all respects, Billam plc announces that Mr Francis John
Phillip Madden, has been appointed to the board of Billam plc as a
non-executive director.

Mr Madden (aged 63), a lawyer has had a long career in corporate finance
particularly with fast growth technology companies.   He was a director of
merchant bankers Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited from where he was seconded to
the Takeover Panel as an Assistant Director General for two years after which
he became a Director (Corporate Finance) at N.M. Rothschild & Sons Limited, He
subsequently founded the Cambridge Capital Group which included Cambridge
Research and Innovation Limited (CRIL), a company which continues to provide
successfully services and equity investment finance for commercialisation of
technology, much of which originates from Cambridge University.

He is a non-executive director of AorTech International plc, the Scottish
medical devices and bio-materials company now on the Stock Exchange Full List,
and was a director of World Life Sciences plc, prior to its merger with Billam
plc. He is also a director of a number of 'private' companies.

In the last 5 years Mr Madden has been or is a director of the following
