Billam PLC
21 September 2000
The Directors of Billam plc today announced it has agreed an investment of
£500,000 in Cybit Ltd. for 20% of the issued share capital. Under the terms of
the Agreement Billam plc has taken a six month option to acquire a further 20%
at the same price.
Cybit Ltd is the UK's first dedicated independent multi-platform telematics
bureau service provider. The Global market for 'intelligent transport
systems' are estimated by ITS America (1999) to grow to $400 billion by 2015
with 60 million telematic users forecast by 2005. The market for fleet
transport management information systems in the UK alone was recently valued
by GEC Marconi to be worth in excess of £8 billion over the next 3 years and
growth prospects for qualified entrants to this market are believed, by the
Directors of Billam, to be exceptional.
The investment in Cybit Ltd an Application Service Provider and Internet
Service Provider in this sector totally complements the investments made by
Billam plc in IVU Traffic Technologies AG and Tri-Mex Holdings Ltd .
