easyJet PLC
3 May 2002
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3 May 2002
Possible Acquisition
easyJet plc ('easyJet') has previously indicated that it would actively consider
all possible opportunities for further expansion in the European short haul
airline market, including the addition of new slots and routes. Since September
11, these opportunities, including corporate transactions, have increased
significantly and are under active consideration. In this context easyJet
announces that it is in exclusive negotiations with 3i Group plc and Go
regarding the possible acquisition of Go.
easyJet has become aware of a leak of those negotiations. easyJet confirms that
the negotiations are at an advanced stage and also confirms its intention only
to conclude these negotiations if it believes that the acquisition would be in
the interests of shareholders, customers and staff.
A further announcement will be made in due course.
