Ray Webster, easyJet Chief Executive, said:
'August was a good month for easyJet with load factors up marginally despite the
late UK bank holiday pushing demand for return journeys into September. Yet
again, easyJet carried more passengers in Europe than British Airways during the
month.
'During the month we announced the addition of 10 new routes and 6 new
destinations (Tallinn, Riga, Almeira, Bratislava, Turin and Valencia) to our
network. These additions follow our highly successful tender to identify those
airports prepared to work in partnership with easyJet. We have removed our last
remaining route to Zurich and reduced capacity to Copenhagen and Amsterdam where
airport charges remain, in our view, unsustainably high. easyJet is now offering
176 routes for the forthcoming winter season, an increase of 70 on the previous
year.'

1.Represents the number of earned seats flown. Earned seats include seats that
are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a no-refund
airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not
entitled to change flights or seek a refund. Earned seats also include seats
provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business travel.
2. Represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats
available for passengers. No weighting of the load factor is carried out to
recognise the effect of varying flight (or 'stage') lengths.
3. Represents statutory revenue (unaudited)
