Ray Webster, easyJet Chief Executive, said:
'These figures are in line with our own expectations. We are pleased with
easyJet's June performance, given the events that have adversely affected the
airline market recently. These results demonstrate, for both business and
leisure customers, the continuing attractiveness of our fare structures and the
airports selected for our network.'
1. In June 2002, Go Fly, as an independent company, carried 584,292
passengers with a load factor of 84.3%. On a proforma basis, in June 2002,
easyJet and Go Fly carried 1,543,149 passengers with a load factor of 85.7%. For
the rolling 12 months ending 30 June 2003, on a proforma basis, easyJet and Go
Fly carried 19,585,147 passengers with a load factor of 84.0%.
2. Represents the number of earned seats flown. Earned seats include seats
that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a
no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is
generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund. Earned seats also
include seats provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business
travel.
3. Represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of
seats available for passengers. No weighting of the load factor is carried out
to recognise the effect of varying flight (or 'stage') lengths.
