Eckoh Technologies PLC 15 February 2006 For Immediate Release 15 February 2006 IRISH EYES ARE SMILING - WILLIAM HILL LAUNCH IRELAND'S LOWEST PRICED HORSE RACING COMMENTARY AND RESULTS SERVICE Eckoh Technologies, one of Europe's leading speech application service providers, has announced a new deal to provide William Hill with an automated horse racing commentary and results service for the Irish market. The new service will allow punters in the Republic of Ireland to access up-to-the-minute live Irish and UK horse racing commentary and results. The automated commentary service (tel: 1530 787 666) costs just 33c per minute from an Irish landline, making it by far the lowest priced live horse racing commentary and results service available in the Republic*. Not only does the service deliver fast-paced, real-time commentary and results from over 27 leading Irish race courses, 59 UK tracks and a host of greyhound meetings, it also provides for the transfer of high priority calls for punters wishing to place a bet. William Hill's decision to develop a dedicated commentary/results service for the Irish market follows on from the phenomenal success of the UK commentary/ results service (08712 444 666), which has handled millions of calls across the UK and Ireland, since it was first launched in 2002. All calls from the UK and Irish automated services are hosted on Eckoh's highly scaleable platform, which is capable of handling an overwhelming 650,000 calls per hour and 8,000 calls concurrently. The scalability of Eckoh's platform is of crucial importance to William Hill during busy racing periods, allowing agents to focus on value-add calls whilst enabling punters to connect straight through to live racing commentary without delay. Mike Grenham Head of Sports Information at William Hill, said: "William Hill's 5 year sponsorship of "The Galway Plate" and the launch of a dedicated Irish horse commentary service, is further endorsement of our commitment to providing Irish customers with a 1st class betting service, powered by the latest voice technologies, at the lowest possible price. Eckoh Technologies have once again pulled out all the stops to make the new Irish commentary service a tremendous success. We look forward to working with Eckoh to match the tremendous performance and operational achievement being enjoyed by our automated commentary service in the UK". Jim Hennigan - Managing Director - Eckoh Technologies added: "Through our partnership approach with William Hill, we are committed to developing practical solutions that deliver measurable business and customer service results. We're delighted to be given the opportunity to extend our self-service offering into the Irish market and look forward to - what's sure to be - another winning result for William Hill's leading automated commentary services". * Calls cost 33c per minute incl VAT from an Irish landline. Call rates from mobiles may vary. Only available in the Republic of Ireland.
