It is a European leader in the provision of hosted interactive voice applications and speech recognition services. Eckoh Technologies owns one of Europe's largest voice-hosting platforms, forecast to be in excess of 8,000 lines by the end of 2002, with a capacity of handling over 500,000 calls per hour. The company delivers large-scale, innovative speech solutions to a client list that includes Granada Television, Chrysalis, Cartoon Network, Sky, EMAP, Virgin Mobile, and the Royal National Institute of the Blind. In July 2001, Eckoh Technologies launched Europe's first comprehensive voice portal, Eckoh, which can be accessed from any standard telephone - mobile or landline - by dialling one number. Eckoh allows the user to send and retrieve emails, go shopping, listen to the latest news, sport and entertainment, set up conference calls, check and create diary appointments, quickly connect to friends, family and colleagues - all driven by the power of his or her voice. Eckoh Technologies syndicated Eckoh to Virgin Mobile, which launched its service in December 2001. Eckoh Technologies has a partnership with Philips Speech Processing through which it is the preferred partner in the UK for hosting speech recognition applications on behalf of Philips clients. Eckoh Technologies is capable of applying its technology to a broad range of industries, and can provide pan-European access to applications in multiple languages. Datamonitor estimates that the European market for speech recognition applications will grow six-fold to £1.2 billion by 2006.
