The  Board has been notified today that an employee has acquired 69,000 Lawrence
ordinary shares as a result of the exercise of options over the following:

9,000  ordinary shares at a price of 125p per share granted to her on 16 October
1998
30,000 ordinary shares at a price of 132p per share granted to her on 11 October
1999
30,000  ordinary shares at a price of 92p per share granted to her on 4  October
2001

Accordingly,  application has been made for 69,000 new  ordinary  shares  to  be
admitted  to trading on the Alternative Investment Market on Thursday 7  October
2004.

Following this, the number of shares in issue will be 26,889,727.
