The Company was informed on 9 May 2006 that Terrence Strapp, Chairman, through
the nominee account of SDG Nominees PTY Ltd purchased 60,000 ordinary shares of
Mercator Gold on 9 May 2006 at an average price of 81.31 pence per share and
purchased 15,000 ordinary shares on 9 May 2006 at an average price of 85.86
pence per share.



Subsequent to these purchases and the issue of the new ordinary shares in
relation to the placing of announced on 5 May 2006 the Directors' shareholdings
in the Company will be:
