THE EDINBURGH INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (EIT)
INCREASES BORROWINGS THROUGH A LOAN FACILITY OF £75 MILLION
The directors of EIT announce that the potential gearing of the company has
been increased through the arrangement of a loan facility of up to £75 million
to take advantage of current low UK interest rates and the long term
attractions of the UK stockmarket. The facility is available on a drawdown
basis, is on a 364 day rate and is renewable yearly. The money will be
invested in UK equities as opportunities arise, but none of it has been drawn
down yet.
