On 25 August 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
900,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 500p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 285,473,471 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
