On 7 December 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
173,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 524.373p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 280,162,364 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
