On 29 March 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
850,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 545p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 263,990,644 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
