On 16 February 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
320,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at an average price of 482.19p per
share. Following the buy back, there are 275,672,364 ordinary shares in issue.
The share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
