On 12 October 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
112,930 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 521p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 255,136,714 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
